The Microvideo VBI data bridge (part number VDB-SD-AN) provides a unique solution to several system integration problems involving any kind of VBI data in SDV systems.
Typical applications are:
1. Bypass for VBI signals for equipment such as mixers and DVEs that do not handle VBI.
2. Moving data on a single serial digital stream from one line to another.
3. Combining and moving VBI data between two video feeds.
4. Inserting VBI data from 'miss-timed' analogue source.
The data bridge has 3 inputs; two SDV (one main program input and one SDV data input) and one analogue data input. The data inputs are asynchronous and have an internal buffer, which means that the VBI data signals can be out of phase from the program input. Up to four additional inputs are available.
VBI lines on the main output may be taken from any of the 3 inputs, and can be moved, copied or passed to the output as desired. Once the unit has been set up an 'insertion table' can be stored in memory. 15 of these set-ups can be stored and recalled via the front panel.
